Be a Road Hero and Jump Start Another Car

jumper cables It is amazing how much of a hero you can be to another human being in distress when their vehicle will not start for them. It is often the case that they have a dead or nearly dead battery and need a jump start. You can help them out with that.

Make sure both vehicles are turned off and bring out your jumper cable. Attach the red clip of the cable to the positive terminal of both car batteries. You will attach the black clip to the negative terminal of their vehicle and to an unpainted metal portion of your car.

Then, you just start up your engine and let it run for a few minutes until you are able to test to see if you transferred enough energy to the other car to at least get it running again. That will make you the hero of the day for that other motorist.
