2020 Luxury SUVs: What's Coming Next Year?

The coming year sees an exciting selection of car launches across all parts of the market. However, 2020 looks to be particularly interesting for new luxury SUVs, with many major manufacturers releasing fresh models and ranges. Which are the stand-out arrivals to watch out for?
Here's What's Coming in 2020:
1) Porsche Cayenne
Mention the Porsche brand, and their iconic 911 sports coupe is probably the first car that comes to mind. However, the Stuttgart company are no slouches when it comes to the luxury SUV market either.
Their Cayenne range is now in its third generation, and the 2020 update is set to see the introduction of several intriguing versions. Perhaps the most exciting new model will be the 4.0L V8 Cayenne Turbo, delivering a serious 550 horsepower.
However, Porsche's 'fastback' take on the SUV / coupe combination means there are plenty of interesting developments across the entire Cayenne range.
2) Audi RS Q8
Audi already boasts a number of luxury SUV models, but the upcoming RS Q8 is intended to take their SUV roster to another level of performance and comfort. Thought to include a twin-turbo, 4.0L V8 engine producing north of 550 horsepower, the new Audi flagship will be a strong contender for the title of ultimate high-end SUV.
3) Land Rover Defender
Although the Land Rover badge is more usually found on tough, rugged off-road vehicles, the forthcoming 2020 Defender is aiming to compete at the higher luxury end of the market. If it delivers on its eagerly awaited combination of performance, comfort and off-road prowess, it's set to make a serious impact.
4) Mercedes-Benz GLB
As a compact crossover SUV, the Mercedes-Benz GLB proves size isn't everything when it comes to luxury. Available in both five and seven-seat configurations, it's driven by a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine producing 221 horsepower. The all-wheel-drive version also features a sports mode, which sends increased power to the rear wheels to increase handling confidence.
However, perhaps the most interesting aspect of this model is its high degree of automation, with semi-autonomous highway driving available on the higher trim levels.
5) BMW X7
Lastly, BMW's flagship X7 is set to be the largest model in their SUV range. The model seems to have been lingering on the horizon for years but has now officially arrived.
It will be launched in a wide variety of formats, all of which benefit from vast amounts of passenger and cargo space. However, the higher-end models are slated to boast luxury features such as a 12" touchscreen, along with many other extras to take comfort to a new level.
Performance tiers are expected to start with a 3L turbocharged straight-six engine delivering up to 335 horsepower and will range up to the M50i's 4.4L twin-turbo V8 generating a mammoth 523 horsepower.
