Even the Newest Toyota Camry Promises Long-Term Dependability

Although owners of the Toyota Camry are usually remiss to part with them for their long-lasting dependability, some do make it to our pre-owned lot. But you may be wondering if the newer models hold up the same reputation as those of ‘yore.’ The short answer is yes—even the 2018 Camry is made with the same tech that has enabled its forebears to rack up hundreds of thousand of odometer miles.

These days, efficiency is more important than ever, but the 2018 Camry hasn’t been subjected to the same methods to preserve it as other automakers. Where the competition are fitting their powertrains with stop-start tech, turbochargers, and continuously variable transmissions, the Camry boasts two naturally-aspirated engines, and automatic transmissions. By the numbers, these are more reliable than forced-induction mills, and Toyota has worked its magic on them to get the most out of them. In 2018, the Camry will boast class-leading 203 horsepower and 39 mpg highway in its base engine!
